Introduction

In India, many students struggle with poor school facilities and lack of resources. CSR can change that by funding programs which improve education. Whether it is building classrooms, providing scholarships, or creating digital tools, CSR contributions open new doors for students. This helps not only the students but the entire society in the long run.

Brief Description of the Project

In line with Petronash CSR Motive of Education and Development. CSR Committee Members had a meeting with Mr. Natesan from Govardhan Trust and identified “Hindu Higher Secondary School” located in Mayamankuruchi Village – Alangulam, as less privileged school in Tirunelveli.

This school was initially started in the year 1950 as a primary education center, the late Mr. Narashiman, and later it was handed over to Muthusamy Educational Trust. School has started their higher secondary education from 2010.

As per the visit made on 18th Nov 2025, there are 1,121 students studying in this school, out of which 675 are girls. Most of the students from this school are from Farming background. This school has 18 classrooms in addition to Physics, chemistry and Computer Lab, and 13 teaching staff.

Principle from this school has reached out to us through Mr. Natesan from Govardhan trust and has placed below needs,

🔹 Construction of girls’ restrooms to promote hygiene and student well-being.
🔹 Provision of 40 sets of tables and benches for primary school students.
🔹 Supply of equipment for the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology laboratories to strengthen practical learning opportunities.

After careful analysis by members of the CSR committee. It is found that requirements placed by the Trust and school management are genuine and can be considered under CSR procedures.

The project was completed within a two-month timeframe, enhancing facilities at Hindu Higher Secondary School through the reconstruction of the Girls restroom, setting up Physics, Chemistry, and Biology laboratories, and providing tables & benches, thereby contributing to an overall improvement in the quality of education.
