Magnetic Level Gauge

Magnetic Level Indicator (MLI) is a safe, simple, and reliable way to measure fluid level inside a tank. These visual indicators are an alternative to sight glasses and provide non-invasive, low maintenance, cost effective level solution.

The MLIs combine the principles of buoyancy and magnetism to provide 100% accuracy in measurements. The chamber, Float, and level indicators are available in a variety of materials and pressure ratings.

Features

  • No Liquid in contact with level indicator.
  • Single chamber measurement up to 6.0 M without staggering chambers.
  • Maintenance-free once installed because the indicator never touches the process fluid.
  • Visible level indication at distances up to 100 feet (30 meters) or greater.
  • Improved safety due to absence of fragile glass which completely eliminates the number of potential leak points.

FAQ

A magnetic level gauge is safer because:

  • it has no fragile glass
  • it eliminates common leak points found in sight glasses
  • the indicator is external and non-invasive
  • it reduces risk of breakage and sudden leakage

This is especially important for high-risk fluids, pressurized systems, and corrosive service.

Magnetic Level Gauges are widely used in:

  • chemical storage tanks
  • separators and pressure vessels
  • oil & gas process tanks
  • water and utility tanks
  • LPG / fuel tanks (based on suitability)
  • pharmaceutical and industrial liquid containers

They are best suited wherever continuous visual level monitoring is required.

Non-invasive means:
No liquid comes in direct contact with the level indicator
The fluid remains inside the chamber and float mechanism, while the indicator remains outside. This improves:

  • safety
  • maintenance-free operation
  • longer instrument life

Petronash MLIs provide near 100% accurate visual indication under proper installation and operating conditions. Because the float directly follows the actual liquid level (buoyancy principle), the reading is highly dependable and stable compared to many electronic sensors which may drift over time.

Yes. Petronash Magnetic Level Gauges support:
Pressure rating: up to 25 Bar(g)
Temperature rating: -10°C to 100°C

These ranges cover a wide set of industrial applications and process service tanks.

Petronash MLIs can measure:
Single chamber measurement up to 6.0 meters without staggering chambers

This is a major benefit because it reduces installation complexity and improves reliability for taller tanks and vessels.

Yes. Petronash magnetic level gauges provide:
Visible level indication up to 100 feet (30 meters) or more

This makes it perfect for large industrial plants where operators may need to check level quickly from a safe distance.

Petronash offers multiple material options to suit corrosive and industrial service fluids:

Chamber Materials

  • Carbon Steel (CS)
  • SS316 / SS316L
  • other materials on request

Float Materials

  • SS316 / SS316L
  • Titanium
  • Hastelloy
  • other special materials based on process requirements

This ensures chemical compatibility and longer field life.

The indicator and scale are designed for durability and clear visibility:
SS304 / SS316 Indicator & Scale

Since they do not touch process fluid, they remain clean and accurate for long periods.

Petronash MLIs are available in:
½” to 4” process connection size
Threaded or Flanged connections

This provides flexibility for integration into different tank nozzles and vessel specifications.

Magnetic level indicators are considered maintenance-free because:

  • indicator does not touch fluid
  • no glass to replace
  • no electronics to calibrate
  • minimal moving parts (only float movement)

Once properly installed and matched with correct float material, MLIs can operate reliably for years with minimal attention.

Petronash Magnetic Level Gauges are designed for industrial safety, clarity, and reliability. Key advantages include:

  • non-invasive, zero-contact indicator design
  • visibility from long distance
  • safe alternative to fragile sight glasses
  • customization in chamber size, float material, and pressure class
  • robust construction suitable for harsh plant environments

Yes. Petronash can customize MLIs based on:

  • CC distance / center-to-center requirement
  • vessel/tank height
  • process fluid type and density
  • corrosion requirements
  • connection type and nozzle orientation

This ensures the MLI matches actual site conditions and gives stable readings.

Absolutely. Petronash supplies MLIs for:

  • EPC and project-based requirements
  • oil & gas and industrial standards
  • customized documentation requirements
  • material traceability and inspection needs

This makes Petronash a reliable partner for both local and global projects.
