Well Head Control Panel

Wellhead control panels are designed and manufactured to control oil well and associated valves. These panels are used in both onshore and offshore environment. Pneumatic/ Hydraulic energy is used to actuate Wellhead valves. We can also integrate these panels with PLC/ RTU/ SCADA.

Apart from Pneumatic and Hydraulic energy, panel working with electrical power supply can also be offered which will have Electric Motor Driven Pumps & Hardwired Logic for Local and Remote Operations of SCSSV, SSV, LBV, ESD/FSD.

Control systems can be built exactly inline with customer specifications. In case of absence of customer specifications, Petronash Engineering can offer a fully operational systems inline with any international standards and good engineering practices.

Petronash offers wellhead control panels with different constructions such as Single wellhead, modular multi wellhead, electro hydraulic operated, solar powered, etc.,

FAQ

WHCPs are used in both environments:

  • Onshore oil & gas fields
  • Offshore platforms and marine installations

Petronash panels are designed with suitable protection and enclosure ratings to withstand harsh marine conditions, corrosion, and long operating cycles.

Petronash wellhead control panels can operate:

  • SCSSV (Surface Controlled Subsurface Safety Valve)
  • SSV (Surface Safety Valve)
  • Wing SSV / Wing Valve
  • LBV (Line Break Valve)
  • Choke valve control
  • ESD/FSD systems and well test operations

WHCP ensures controlled operation and emergency shutdown when needed.

Petronash WHCP can be designed using:

  • Hydraulic energy
  • Pneumatic energy
  • Electric motor driven pumps
  • Hybrid electro-hydraulic systems

Power selection depends on site conditions, availability of utilities, and automation requirement.

An electro-hydraulic WHCP uses electrical power to drive hydraulic pumps (motor driven pumps) and uses hardwired or PLC logic to operate wellhead valves locally and remotely. This is useful where:

  • remote monitoring/control is required
  • higher automation is needed
  • integration with SCADA/DCS is part of project scope

Petronash WHCPs are suitable for high pressure applications up to:
20,000 PSI

They can be equipped with suitable Bladder or Piston accumulators for energy storage and emergency actuation under high-pressure conditions.

Accumulators store hydraulic energy so that valves can operate reliably even when:

  • pump supply is unavailable
  • power fails
  • emergency shutdown occurs

They provide quick high-flow hydraulic action needed to close/open critical wellhead valves.

Petronash WHCPs can be integrated with:

  • Emergency Shutdown (ESD)
  • Fire Shutdown (FSD)
  • fusible element fire sensing (melts during fire and triggers shutdown)
  • well safety shutdown logic

These features ensure automatic safe well isolation during emergency events

Flowline sensing enables automatic well control based on flowline pressure conditions:

  • High pressure sensing protects against overpressure/line blockage
  • Low pressure sensing helps detect line rupture/leak or flow anomalies

This feature improves safety and reduces the risk of uncontrolled well conditions.

Yes. Petronash WHCP can be integrated with:

  • PLC based control
  • RTU systems
  • SCADA integration
  • Platform or plant DCS connectivity

This allows remote monitoring and control, alarm reporting, and automated shutdown actions.

Petronash provides multiple constructions such as:

  • single wellhead control panel
  • modular multi wellhead panel
  • electro-hydraulic operated WHCP
  • solar powered WHCP
  • customized systems as per client specification

This flexibility makes it suitable for both small and large field developments.

WHCPs are mainly used for:

  • wellhead valve operations (SCSSV/SSV/Wing valve)
  • HIPPS / ESD control
  • choke valve actuation and control
  • well test operation
  • emergency/fire shutdown
  • flowline pressure control

They play a major role in well integrity and process safety.

Petronash WHCPs are engineered for safety, reliability and long field life. Key strengths include:

  • stainless steel enclosure with high IP protection
  • suitability for offshore harsh marine environments
  • high pressure capability up to 20,000 PSI
  • wide pump options (electric / pneumatic / hydraulic)
  • integration readiness with PLC/SCADA/DCS
  • compliance with international standards and good engineering practices

Yes. Petronash can design WHCPs exactly as per:

  • customer datasheets and control philosophy
  • project specifications and ITP requirements
  • international standards and engineering best practices

If customer specifications are not available, Petronash can propose a complete functional design suitable for safe operations.

Absolutely. Petronash supplies WHCPs:

  • as standalone panels, or
  • integrated with hydraulic skids, accumulators, instrumentation, and shutdown systems

Petronash supports EPC deliveries, offshore installations, and multi-well development projects with reliable packaging and engineering.
