FAQ

The biggest advantage is simplicity and compactness. Using a single process connection:

  • reduces piping complexity
  • reduces potential leak points
  • saves space in control panels
  • ensures faster system integration
  • improves reliability in harsh field environments

This makes DPS ideal for WHCP and hydraulic panel applications.

A 3-way block and bleed valve can:

  • block the incoming pilot hydraulic pressure
  • bleed (vent) the outlet pilot pressure when trip occurs
  • ensure safe depressurization of the pilot line

This is essential for safe and reliable hydraulic shutdown functions.

Yes. DPS is designed to detect and act on:

High pressure trip
Low pressure trip

Depending on the application logic, DPS can trigger alarm/shutdown action when either pressure threshold is reached.

Petronash DPS supports:

Low set pressure range: 10 – 35 Bar(g)
High set pressure range: 100 – 300 Bar(g)

This makes it suitable for many oil & gas and industrial process sensing requirements.

Dead band refers to the pressure difference between:

  • trip pressure
  • reset pressure

Petronash DPS is designed with minimum dead band which ensures:

  • stable trip and reset operation
  • reduced false triggering
  • consistent system performance in fluctuating conditions

This is extremely important in safety shutdown circuits.

Petronash DPS provides two flow options:

Standard flow: Cv 0.03

  • Dead band ~ 5% @ max set point

High flow: Cv 0.09

  • Dead band ~ 10% @ max set point

Additionally, DPS specification includes:
CV factor up to 0.07 max

This allows matching DPS to the pilot line volume and required system response time.

Setpoint repeatability indicates how consistently DPS trips at the same pressure across multiple cycles. Petronash DPS provides:
±1% repeatability

This ensures reliable shutdown performance and reduces uncertainty during critical operations.

Petronash DPS uses a:
Piston type sensor

Piston sensing design is reliable, durable, and suitable for hydraulic environments where stable pressure sensing is required.

Petronash DPS supports:
Max instrument pressure: 12 Bar(g)

This helps protect instruments and pilot lines and ensures safe operation in hydraulic control systems.

The safety vent helps identify sensing piston O-ring failure. It provides:

  • early warning indication
  • protects instrument line from high pressure ingress
  • improves system safety and reliability

This is a major protective feature for field operations.

Petronash DPS is available in high performance materials:

  • SS316L
  • Duplex Stainless Steel
  • Inconel

This ensures corrosion resistance and suitability for harsh offshore/onshore oil & gas environments.

Petronash DPS offers:

  • dual sensing (high & low) through single connection
  • minimum dead band for stable operation
  • ±1% repeatability for accurate shutdown action
  • safety vent for seal failure detection
  • strong material options (SS / Duplex / Inconel)

It is engineered for safety-critical hydraulic control applications.

Yes. Petronash can customize DPS based on:

  • flow Cv requirement (standard vs high flow)
  • pressure setpoint requirements
  • process connection type
  • material upgrades (Inconel, Duplex etc.)
  • integration for WHCP and hydraulic packages

This ensures the DPS fits the customer’s shutdown logic and site conditions.

Absolutely. Petronash supplies DPS:

  • as standalone sensing pilot valves, or
  • integrated into complete systems such as WHCPs, hydraulic skids, HPUs, and control panels

This helps ensure complete system compatibility and reduces multi-vendor dependency.
